What can i say about Man o' war that hasn't been said before ?(easiest way to weasel out of an actual review, take notes please) just kidding but not really, I checked some other blogs for reviews on this A.J Fernandez puro,I lit my cigar and started reading. "oily wrapper" yes, "nice draw", so far so good, "citrus" i was wondering if that was from the cigar or the fish tacos con limon i had earlier , then i got bored reading the same thing over and over finished my cigar and went for a walk , figured i would hit antique row down the street and see if i could find a nice ashtray for cheap and found one in the first store i walked in but it was 25 bucks i only had 10 bucks cash. A few stores later i found a smaller ashtray for only $3.00 and bought it, the guy didn't have a plastic bag and i told him i would just take it like that, then walked down the street to a consignment store , was going to ask the lady at the counter for some old tin posters i saw there a week ago but before i could say anything she saw the ashtray in my hand and asked if i was there to sell it.. I paused for a second and asked how much, she took it and went to the back, when she returned she had 15 bucks with her .I told her i wanted at least 25 since it had been my grandads and she said Russ in the back room collected fish stuff (was a fishhead shaped ashtray) and wanted to buy it for himself, I took the money and went back to the first store and offered 20 since by then I had 22bucks and they took it, no tax! flat 20 !!! I bought a soda on the way home and as soon as i got here i lit up another Man O' War to break in my new old ashtray, took this picture and figured this would make a great story to tell you

Padilla 1932

A strong cigar deserves a strong cup of coffee and some days need a bigger dose of both, there was a wicked crazy series of events yesterday that almost made me forget about taking my picture for cigar wednesday , that is until I finally had a moment to relax , so my new idea is to relax at the start of my day instead of at the end so bring out the big pot of joe and a 32 Padilla , lets get this show on the road!

Perdomo lot 23 at 135mph
After reading their press release i went and got me one and Once i bought it , I drove home as quickly as possible. I couldn't wait to try it ;)
It had a nice steady draw all the way thru which i liked a lot and the flavor was mellow and stayed nice , good cigar , great price and knowing even just a little bit about their back story makes for a great conversation starter

CAO Gold
smoked a CAO gold while waiting to get dark enough to watch a movie at the drive-in (one of only 2 left here) if you were to ask me how the movie was i couldn't tell you but this cigar left a very good impression on me, I will keep them on stock from now on , hey even after driving with it all day and leaving it inside a very hot car for a few hours i was able to enjoy it with very minimal unraveling and only a tiny crack on the wrapper , by now you have probably guessed this is not a review on the taste of the cigars , i could tell you about the "earthiness" and "ooh there was a chocolaty lingering essence " bullshit type of reviews you'll get everywhere else , but taste is subjective and we all have opinions so instead i give you a recommendation on the ones i like and basically if i have taken the time to take the picture then it means i like it enough to try to remember it , I have poor memory some say I have no memory, the wife says i only remember our anniversary because there is a picture with a date stamp on it , everyone who knows me will agree that i am going to make a very interesting old man talking to myself in the nursing home , i will probably have a cigar in my wrinkly old hands and it will probably be one of the ones on this blog, unless i forget i wrote this .

Portofino
Macanudo by Montego y CompaƱia. There is a lot credit to give to a company that offers consistent quality and Macanudo is one of those few that deserve it , well that was going to be part of my review for this brand , given the fact that i've been a long time Macanudo smoker i was expecting the usual solid cigar and i had this one and it was ok , I had trouble keeping it lit and there was a huge stem smack down on the middle , that being said, one in a few dozen i've smoked is still a fucking 99% goodness!!!
